Want to shop locally but don’t have transport? This new weekly shopping trip to Swains might be the answer!

We keep hearing that people want to support local independent businesses but without Jeremy’s and South Downs Butchery in the High Street it’s become much harder if you don’t drive.

Now Access Henfield and the Henfield Electric Community Car Club (HECCC) have put their heads together to come up with a great solution.

It started in June with HECCC volunteer drivers offering a £1.50 round trip at 10am every Friday morning from the Henfield Hall to Swains Farm Shop and Garden Centre. South Downs Butchery is also now based here.

If you can’t get to the Hall they can also arrange to pick you up at home.

After you’ve done your shopping the driver will take you back either to the Hall or to your home so that you don’t have to struggle with heavy bags.

HECCC now own a wheelchair accessible vehicle, so even those with limited mobility can make use of the service.

This is a great opportunity to get out and about and make new friends while also stocking up on beautiful fresh produce and supporting our local shops.

This is going to be a popular service so please make sure to book your seat in advance.
