Truffles Bakery
This friendly family run bakery in Henfield High Street was established in 1982. The company has 18 bakeries, 12 food trucks and the Hummingbird restaurant at Shoreham Airport.
In this shop they sell bread and cakes, sandwiches, hot savoury snacks, salads as well as cold drinks and takeaway coffee. They also cater for outside events and make bespoke cakes and confectioneries. It is open Monday to Saturday 7.30am – 4pm.
Parking – There are 3 parking places outside the shop in the High Street. The Library council car park is 75 metres from the shop on the same side of the road with 3 disabled parking spaces.
Coopers Way council car park is situated across the road from the shop and has 4 disabled parking spaces, both have dropped kerbs/ slopes. Mobility scooters are often parked outside the shop.
Entrance in High St – There are 3 long steps into the shop which are 5½”, 4” & 3” (14, 7½ & 10cm) high. There is a handrail by the steps and the door is 33” (85cm) wide. Staff are very willing to come out to customers to serve them outside when alerted.
Inside the shop – There is an area for customers to select what they would like to buy which is 12 x 9 feet (370 x 270cm). There is a mat inside the door and laminate flooring. There is no seating inside the shop, but outside the shop under the awning in good weather are 2 tables with 2 chairs each.
The shop is well lit, and the front counters are of a good height for visually impaired people to see. There is usually only a max of 2 customers being served at a time, and so should be easy to hear/lip read adults across the counter. All staff have received training to understand and help people with disabilities.
Toilet - There is no toilet in the shop. There are public toilets in the High Street 75metres from the shop, with separate female and male toilets and an accessible disabled unisex toilet accessed using a radar key.
