This hut is down an unmarked drive off Staples Barn. It is the main facility for guides in the Henfield district. It has provision for: 2 Rainbow units for girls aged 4-7, 2 Brownie units for 7-10 year olds and a Guide group aged 10 – 14, and Rangers aged 14-18. It is also the meeting place for the Trefoil Guild and BP Guild. It is also hired by other groups and used as a venue to children’s parties.
Parking – There is an unmade-up parking area outside the guide hut which takes about 9 cars, and is also used by residents of Staples Barn.
Entrance - There is a metal gate to a hard standing and concrete path to the front door of hut. The entrance door is up a steep ramp with a handrail and then a 4.5cm lip on the door. It is wide enough for a wheelchair. The front door has an easy handle and stays open for entry into a lobby which has coat hanging space. Wheelchair users do access through this door. There is then another door to access the hall which is 72cm wide. A wedge can be used to keep this door open.
Within the Hall – The hall is all on one level and has seating and tables for approximately 60 people. Access around the hall will depend on how furniture is placed. Off the hall is a kitchen, toilets and a fire exit.
Toilets – There are 2 small toilet cubicles.
Garden – The garden is grassed all over, with a fire pit.
