Henfield Tennis Club
The club is situated next to Henfield Leisure Centre and has 4 floodlit courts and a mini court. There is a newly refurbished clubhouse with a kitchen, seating area, disabled toilet and changing area with a toilet. They have 2 Lawn Tennis Association Level 4 coaches who run courses and social sessions for all abilities and age groups.
The tennis club have some social events, eg quizzes, and is sometimes used by members for meetings of other groups.
Parking – The Leisure Centre car parks are very close to the tennis club. In the back car park (which is closest to the club entrance), there are 3 disabled parking spaces, 3 family spaces, 2 charging points and 2 bike parking spaces, with 34 spaces in all.
In the front car park there are 2 disabled parking spaces allocated with 78 in all. There is a tarmac path from the car parks to the gate of the tennis club.
Entrance to club – To enter the tennis club, there is a wire netting gate, which is 123 cm wide, for which members have a code. The ground is then paved to the front of the clubhouse and to the courts.
Entrance to clubhouse - There are double doors to the clubhouse, each 64cm wide, which have a 3cm lip to the door, so a wheelchair user may need a little help.
Club House – This is a large newly decorated room on one level with a kitchen area, seating area with 2 low settees, and another seating area with tables. Outside the clubhouse is a patio area with 2 park bench seats and tables with seating.
Tennis Courts – There are 2 main courts opposite the clubhouse. There is a 9cm concrete ramp at the gate to the courts, and the gates are 94cm wide. The 2 other courts are accessed from these courts.
A mini court for children is open to members or the public to use, without entering via the club. There is a small ramp from the park.
Toilets – There is a unisex disabled toilet with a raised toilet, 2 adjustable handrails, automatic light, and an alarm. The door is 80cm wide. There is a separate unisex changing room with another smaller toilet area.
