Henfield Haven
This community facility offers high-needs dementia care, carer support, friendship and company for those who are vulnerable or isolated, all run by a team of volunteers.
The Haven Café on site, serves lovely home-made food and drink from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday at very reasonable prices. This can be eaten in the café or garden or as a takeaway. Waitress service from their volunteers. It welcomes cyclists, disabled people and is dog friendly.
Parking – There is a small level car park for 11 cars, or you can park on surrounding roads. The nearest car park and disabled parking is the Coopers Way or the Library council car park which are situated off the High Street. There is parking for mobility scooters.
Care Area - There no steps on site, so is very disabled friendly. Trained volunteer carers give holistic individual care to the users. There is no hearing loop.
Café and Garden Area – No steps. Friendly volunteers are there to take your orders and serve you. They are happy to move chairs to accommodate wheelchair users, and store walking aids. Food can also be served in the lovely garden area.
Toilets – There is a unisex toilet in the café area which has an automatic light and handrails.
The care area has 2 disabled unisex toilets one of which has a baby changing unit. Both have 82cm entrance doors.
Help Available – staff are always within the café and care area who are happy to help.
