AbiliTea Place

AbiliTea is situated at the north end of Henfield High Street. It offers ‘Conductive Education’ to help people with neurological conditions (eg cerebral palsy, spina bifida, MS, Parkinsons, Stroke & head/spinal injury) overcome their challenges, whether physical, communication, self-care or social and to reach their highest potential. This can be individually or in groups sessions. Workshops are also offered.

The cafe offers natural foods and drinks: homemade cakes, tea and coffee specialities, toasties, sandwiches and child friendly snacks. It is open on Wednesdays 9-1, Fridays 3-6 and Saturdays 9-4. Dogs are welcome.

Parking

There are 2 parking spaces in a private car park next to the café, but in the summer tables and chairs are in this area. There is also on-street parking on the high street, or in the Library council car park which has 81 spaces including 4 disabled parking spaces. Coopers Way council car park has 90 spaces including 6 disabled parking spaces with dropped kerbs/slopes. Mobility scooters can be parked inside or outside.

Entrance into the Therapy Area and Café

The entrance door to the therapy area is 83cm wide. The entrance to the café is 89cm wide. Both are flat with no threshold lip.

Inside the cafe

There is seating and toys for children to play with, eg swing seat, ball pool, sensory area, etc. There is counter or table service. There is good lighting and different types of seating.

Inside the Therapy Area

There is equipment to help rehabilitate children and adults with neurological conditions. eg to aid standing, walking, reaching, etc.

Toilet

In the café there is a unisex toilet with a sliding door which is 87cm (34”) wide. It has 3 handrails and is 232cm long x 117cm wide. It has a baby changing unit, colourful child toilet steps and seat.

The Therapy area toilet is wedge shaped, approx 183cm long x 150cm wide. The door width is 87cm. It has 1 adjustable and 2 fixed handrails.
