Henfield Hall
This is the main hall for village events. It has three main function rooms, foyer and bar, kitchen and a garden. The Parish Office and Henfield Museum are located in the hall entrance. Two caretakers are employed to give help, with their phone numbers on the noticeboard. Many local groups meet here as well as markets, jumble sales, cinema, comedy club and theatre productions. Parking - Coopers Way council car park for 90 cars is next to the hall, and has 4 disabled parking spaces with dropped kerbs. There is also a loading bay outside the hall with 2 dropped kerbs. No mobility scooters are allowed in the hall, but there is undercover mobility scooter parking nearby in Caudle Street.
Entrance into the Hall and Foyer - There are 3 ways to the front entrance door: 2 with steps and another with a gentle slope, easily wide enough for a wheelchair. The front door opens automatically onto a carpeted area. The inner double doors are normally kept closed, and can be opened by hand. There is a spacious foyer with 2 settees and 4 armchairs. There is also a well-equipped kitchen.
Within the Hall and Garden - The corridors and doors are all wide enough for wheelchairs and there are no steps.
The Whittome Hall is a large hall with a stage, which is 20m x 12m. It has a capacity of 240 people seated without tables, or 176 people seated round tables. There is a sound system, microphone and projector. There is a hearing loop and 2 portable hear loops that people can ask for.
The Garden Room is a large room of 16m x 5.8 and 9.8m at one end It can be divided into 2 or 3 areas and adjoins the kitchen. It has a capacity of 120 people seated in rows or 80 seated.
The Varley Committee Room is a room 6.8m x 5m used for small meetings of up to 30 people.
Garden - the Garden can be used in conjunction with the Garden Room. It can be accessed on either side of the building or via the Garden Room.
Toilets – There is a unisex disabled toilet off the main corridor, with an alarm and 1 adjustable and 3 fixed handrails – it has a sliding door which gives a 78cm entry. The toilet is 218 x 155cm. There are 5 female toilets, 2 of which have handrails, and one has a baby changing table. There is a separate male toilet with one cubicle.
Help Available – a caretaker is within the building at most times who is there to help.
