Al-Baddar Barber Shop

This barber shop describes itself as giving traditional, stylish gentleman’s hairdressing – a real barbershop experience. Treatments include: haircut, beard and eyebrow trim and threading, hot towel shave, head massage, skin fade and personal grooming programme. They also offer a special occasions and wedding package for the groom or best man. While sitting having treatment there is internet access, a Wii interactive computer console and personal TV at each chair. A home service is also available on request.

They also sell equipment such as scissors, combs, clippers, razors, blades, gowns and hair products.

Opening times: Monday to Friday 8.30 – 6.00, Saturdays 8.30 – 5.00.

Dogs are welcome but the owner is asked to leave the dog tied to a post inside the entrance.

Parking

There is some on-street parking outside the shop. Coopers Way council car park is situated up the road from the shop and has 6 disabled parking spaces with dropped kerbs/slopes.

The Library council car park is across the road from the shop with 4 disabled parking spaces.

Mobility scooters are often parked outside the shop.

Entrance in High St

There is one shallow 3cm (1”) step followed by a 16cm (6”) step into the salon. If customers cannot manage this, there is a ramp which is 70cm wide which staff can put in place, eg for wheelchair users. There are double doors, each is 80cm wide.

Inside the barber shop

This is quite a spacious salon with 4 treatment/workstations chairs. Wheelchair and mobility scooters do come in. There is good lighting. There is background noise from the TV but this can be muted on request. Staff are willing to help as needed.

Toilet

There is no toilet in the shop, so customers use the public toilets in the High Street opposite the shop. It has separate female and male toilets and an accessible disabled unisex toilet accessed using a radar key, which can be borrowed from the shop.
