Corpus Christi Catholic Church
This Catholic church is in the diocese of Arundel and Brighton. Mass on Sundays is at 10am. Vigil Mass is Saturday evenings at the Towers Convent in Upper Beeding. Refreshments are served in the hall after the Sunday service.
Parking – The car park is flat and has 3 disabled parking spaces next to the church. If walking to the church from the road, there is a slope up to the car park.
Entrance - There is a long wide tarmac slope up to the church with handrails. The front door needs to be opened by hand, but there are designated welcomers available to help. Each door is 72cm wide, but both doors can be opened for a wide wheelchair. There is a small lip on the threshold which is ok for the average wheelchair.
Within the Church – The church has pews and 2 spaces for wheelchairs. No mobility scooters are allowed in the church. Walkers are placed in the front corner of the church during the service. The door to the confessional is narrow so other arrangements are made if needed. There is a microphone and hearing loop.
Toilets – There is a normal sized unisex toilet which is not accessible for a wheelchair and has no handrail. The toilet door width is 64cm.
There is a unisex accessible disabled toilet in the Church Hall across the car park. It has handrails but no alarm and is situated as the first door going into the female toilets. The entrance door to the female toilets is 80cm wide and disabled toilet door 91cm wide.
