What to Do if there is a Problem with a Road or Pavement 

West Sussex County Council as the Highway Authority, has to make sure that roads and pavements in Henfield are properly maintained and safe for everyone to use.

If you are aware of a problem, Please report it.

Overgrown vegetation/hedges/trees impacting pavements/roads

There is a legal requirement to keep pavements clear of vegetation, and this is generally the responsibility of the landowner. Ideally, hedges, etc, should be cut during the autumn or winter, out of bird nesting season.

When you report, West Sussex recommend that you:

• Create an account, saving you time when reporting and keeping a log of your submitted reports.

• Use the map to check if the issue has already been reported and View the status of current open reports.

• Subscribe to updates about existing reports by viewing them on the report form map, selecting the pin for the report and submitting your email address.
